Your Dominant Characteristic: What Stands Out First

Your dominant characteristic is what people notice about you first—it’s the visual quality that defines your overall presence. In seasonal colour analysis, identifying this dominant trait is the first step in discovering your most flattering colours and refining your personal style.

DEEP vs LIGHT

If your dominant characteristic is DEEP, your hair, eyes, and overall colouring are rich and dark. You wear saturated, bold colours beautifully.
Think: Salma Hayek, Sandra Bullock

If you are LIGHT, your features are soft and fair—light hair, light eyes, and light skin. You may still be a blonde, or were one naturally. Lighter, airier tones complement your appearance.
Think: Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon

WARM vs COOL

If you are WARM, you likely have golden undertones in your skin and red or coppery highlights in your hair. Freckles are common, and gold jewellery enhances your glow—while silver tends to wash you out.
Think: Jennifer Lopez, Amy Adams
This warmth aligns with Spring and Autumn in the seasonal colour system.

If you are COOL, your skin has blue or rose undertones. Hair often has ashy or neutral tones, and silver flatters you far more than gold. Orange is typically not your colour.
Think: Emily Blunt, Olivia Wilde
You may fall into the Winter or Summer seasonal colour palettes.

CLEAR vs MUTED

If you are CLEAR, there is strong contrast between your eyes, skin, and hair. Your colouring is bright and vibrant, with features that pop. You wear high-saturation colours well.
Think: Milla Jovovich, Emma Stone

If you are MUTED, your features blend softly together—low contrast, earthy tones, and a gentle presence. You shine in soft, blended shades and avoid anything too bold.
Think: Jessica Biel, Drew Barrymore
