A Testament to Timelessness: The Story of a 9-Year-Old Favourite

"Years ago, I bought a green dress of yours from a boutique in East Vancouver. To this day, it is one of the most flattering, well-loved pieces in my wardrobe."

As a designer, there is no higher compliment than knowing a piece I created has become a staple in someone’s life.Recently, I received an email that reminded me exactly why I do what I do...

In her email, Anna wrote:

"I was so happy to come across your website recently and see that you are still creating such wonderful clothing. Years ago, I bought a green dress of yours... To this day, it is one of the most flattering, well-loved pieces in my wardrobe."

A well-loved, 9-year-old Muse Clothing Co. Blythe dress in a sage green bamboo jersey hangs on a simple door. It features the signature cowl neckline, cap sleeves, and distinctive smocked/ruched waistband.
The dress that started it all again: Anna's original green Blythe. Seeing this image reminds me that true quality and timeless design never go out of style, even after nearly a decade.

It is incredibly moving to see how well that dress has held up over nearly a decade. As you can see in the image, this style—which I call the 'Blythe'—remains as elegant and relevant today as it was when it was first crafted.

The Art of the Silhouette

The Blythe was specifically designed to celebrate the golden age of the 1950s, a time when fashion truly honoured the beauty of the feminine form. I designed this style to feature a beautiful, form-fitting silhouette that perfectly complements an hourglass shape. With the intricate ruching in the waistline and the soft, elegant cowl neckline, the Blythe is designed to be both sophisticated and incredibly flattering without ever feeling restrictive.

Because of these design details, it remains a cornerstone piece for those who gravitate toward an hourglass silhouette—a category I feature as a specific style filter on my website.

The dress emphasizes her hourglass silhouette, complete with the cowl neck, cap sleeves, smocked waist, and a modest ruffle hem. The background shows blurred audience members. The Evolution of Muse Clothing Co.

Since 2018, Muse Clothing Co. has grown and evolved alongside my passion for sustainable design. While classic styles like the Blythe remain the heart of my work, I have refined my process to better serve you.

I am now dedicated to the "Quiet Luxury" and "Eco Chic" movements, crafting each made-to-order garment from sustainable bamboo cotton jersey. Furthermore, I have integrated professional seasonal colour analysis into my practice. It is my joy to help clients find the specific shades that truly harmonize with their natural palette, ensuring that every piece they purchase is not just beautiful, but perfectly suited to them.

Welcome to my current studio setup for seasonal color analysis. This arrangement in IMG_6342.jpg showcases how I now bridge my classic designs with the perfect palette for your unique harmony.

The Constancy of Muse

I am so excited to be fulfilling Anna’s request for two more Blythe dresses!

This full-circle moment highlights a beautiful truth about my work: Seasons come and go, but timeless style stays in my collection permanently.

I am incredibly proud that after nearly a decade, I am still able to cut and have the Blythe dress sewn just for her. When you purchase from Muse, you aren't just buying a trend; you are investing in a classic piece of art that is designed to stay with you, permanently.

I do this work in service to women, so that you can look in the mirror and know how incredibly beautiful you are.

Thank you, Anna, for sharing this journey with me. It is stories like yours that keep the inspiration alive at Muse Clothing Co.

I am so glad you found me. Let's create something wonderful, permanently.

Warmly,

Laura Muse Clothing Co.
